Stanardsville Supervisor Abbey Heflin Resigns

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STANARDSVILLE, Oct. 6, 2023 – Supervisor Abbey Heflin has regretfully resigned from the Greene County Board of Supervisors effective immediately. She joined the Board of Supervisors for the Stanardsville District in January 2022. Her term of service expires Dec. 31, 2025. Heflin told her colleagues, “It has been a great pleasure to serve the citizens of our lovely county, and an honor to have served with you all.”

“We would like to thank Supervisor Heflin for her commitment to the community,” said Board Chairman Dale Herring. “It takes a special person to run for the office of Supervisor and to serve. We appreciate her time of service to Greene County residents.”

The Greene County Board of Supervisors will discuss the process it will take to fill the seat at the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the County Administration Building, 40 Celt Road, Stanardsville.
