The Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA) has served older adults, their families and caregivers for over 45 years, and is recognized as the organization to turn to for aging information, direct services and advocacy in central Virginia. JABA provides comprehensive services that promote overall wellness, giving older adults and individuals with disabilities the supports they need to age in the home of their choice for as long as possible. Key programs include Adult Care Centers, Community Senior Centers, Medicare and ACA Insurance Counseling, Home Delivered Meals, Information and Assistance, Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, Health Services and a vibrant Volunteer Program.
JABA’s Greene County Community Senior Center in Stanardsville offers a wide range of activities, healthful lunches and meaningful connections with your peers and other community members. Nourish your body, mind and spirit through exercise, music, crafts, movies, games, field trips and so much more.
If you are an adult age 60+ or with a disability, and can manage your medications and personal care, you are eligible to become a member of one of JABA’s Community Senior Centers. Individuals who use assistive devices are most welcome. Membership is free, with a small suggested donation for lunch. Center members have access to all JABA services, if desired, including health screenings, information on health issues and assistance in managing chronic diseases.
